English Language and Literature
A community of confident and proficient users of the English Language
To provide students with opportunities to explore the use of language and to encourage the enjoyment of English.
Key Focus and Curriculum
The department continues zealously with its programmes and initiatives designed to not only raise students’ competency in the English language and realise its vision of nurturing proficient and confident communicators, but also to infuse in them a deep appreciation for the functionality and the beauty of the English language.
As we believe that reading is the crux of language proficiency, our reading programmes take centrestage to nurture in our students a passion for the written word.
Over and beyond that, we have tapped on the richness of theatre and drama to enthuse and enrich our Secondary One students, laying the foundation for a vibrant and meaningful English learning experience.
